To manage the seasonal demand, Indian Railways would run 179 special trains until Chhath Puja

To meet the extra demand during the impending festive season and to guarantee passenger convenience, Indian Railways has planned 2,269 runs of 179 pairs of special trains until Chhath Puja this year. These unique services, which will operate on main routes around the country, will guarantee that customers travel comfortably and quickly. It will be open till Chhath Puja on October 30th. According to livemint, they would connect important locations across the country via railway routes like as Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, Delhi-Saharsa, and so on.

 

In keeping with the festive mood, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) offered a special Durga Puja cuisine on board trains last week. According to authorities, the special menu was made accessible in around 70 trains going via Howrah, Sealdah, and Asansol stations in West Bengal, as well as Jasidih Junction in Jharkhand, which feature IRCTC’s e-catering service.

 

Over the world’s fourth biggest rail network, Indian Railways operates around 3,000 passenger trains and 5,660 suburban trains. According to news agency PTI, the daily passenger traffic is around 2.23 crore. The railways operate around 3,240 mail/express trains, which include: Vande Bharat Express, Gatimaan Express, Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express, Humsaafar Express, Tejas Express, Duronto Express, Antyodaya Express, Garib Rath Express, Sampark Kranti Express, Yuva Express, Uday Express, Janshatabdi Express and other types of trains.
